I don’t just use my sales skills to help my team win every day
I use them to get new things & experiences in life
At last week’s Christmas party, I wore my Marc Nolan Crocskin leather boots.
They’re fantastic looking. And I got a ton of compliments.
But that’s not the point.
The point is how I got them in the first place.
By now you all know I’m a huge watch guy.
So, I had this black dial Panerai with a green crocodile strap that I really wanted to pair with some new shoes.
Scanning the web, I found the perfect pairing…these Marc Nolan Crocskin leather boots.
Did I buy them then and there?
Nope
So what did I do?
I found the CEO’s email and sent him a cold email.
I introduced myself as a major fan of the brand’s design & said that I found the perfect watch/strap pairing for their crocskin boots. I shared a photo & asked him to join my podcast to talk about the pairing.
I got a response within 24 hours…
…with an enthusiastic introduction to the brand’s head of marketing.
We hopped on a call. I shared my story and vision. He 100% dug it.
“What size shoe are you?” he asked
“12”
“Cool, shoot me your address and I’ll get a pair shipped out tomorrow”
Whoa
And he joined my podcast.
For more than two decades, I’ve used my sales skills to do business with some of the world’s most exciting companies.
Now here I was using those same skills to get a new pair of fantastic looking boots on my feet…that matched my watch.
For free
New things
New experiences
What do you want in life?
It’s right there waiting for you.
All you have to do is have the guts to ask.
P.S. The photo here is the exact mock-up I sent Marc Nolan’s CEO
