I've always said that using your luxury watch to network is a great idea
There's no better way to give your dinner conversation a good turn
But some people think about it the wrong way
Like when I get asked what is a $5k Rolex with color to wear and show off for networking
Generally speaking I’ve found that wearing the cheapest Rolex on the block for $5k in order to network never works
It doesn't show you're knowledgable
It's nothing special, and
There's no interesting story to tell
I would rather an enthusiast wear something more exciting where they’re getting a value play
Such as an $18k UN Rose Gold in the photo here and you’re getting it for like $5900.
These watches depreciate and getting them at that dollar shows you're an intelligent buyer, it's an interesting money story, and UN is a real enthusiasts brand
That’s a better deal from a networking standpoint than to wear the cheapest Rolex possible.
Don't do this if you're trying to network for business
