You can count on watches like Cartier to do better than expected compared to other brands on the secondary markets

You can count on watches like Cartier to do better than expected compared to other brands on the secondary markets

Because they’re starting to get branded very close to Rolex as a real premium retail type watch

It’s not happening yet, but there are a lot of indicators because their newer stuff is higher in demand and holding very well.

I can’t tell you what really changed or why that became a popular thing but it just is

So the value holding from retail to wholesale markets is the way you know that certain watches are trending that way

When they have more model lines than before holding at 10-20% off MSRP instead of 40-50% off and you start to notice these trends and it starts to tell a story

So that’s something I’m paying attention to in the next 6-12 months

Here are a couple Cartier I really like right now

Santos Large Automatic 18k Yellow Gold White Dial. I wrote last week that watches are a safety play no different than gold and this is a great example of that.

Ballon Bleu Green Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet. This is a great example of what I wrote about here. New issue from Cartier. Holding very well in the secondary markets. Very desirable green dial.
