The motivation here for Swatch and AP is something else entirely.
It's a cash grab for struggling Swatch boutiques. And it's a move to control copycats of AP's iconic Royal Oak design after they lost a trademark battle in court.
It's not about "opening up a new generation of consumers" or "raising money for charity"
