Omega should do a SpaceX collab. Here's why.

Omega should do a SpaceX collab. Here's why.

On my live Thursday I featured two Omegas and we got into the brand's connection to space. Someone asked if I thought Omega would produce a watch for the upcoming Mars mission.

Great question.

The astronauts on the recent Artemis mission weren't wearing Omega. They were wearing Breitling.

That's a problem for Omega. They built their legacy on being the first watch on the moon. The Speedmaster is literally called the Moonwatch. And now they're watching from the sidelines while another brand carries the mission.

Meanwhile SpaceX is about to launch the largest IPO in history. They're taking the baton from NASA on space exploration. They're the ones going to Mars.

This presents a massive marketing opportunity for Omega.

And for collectors? Omega already teased this with the Swatch x Omega Mission to Mars. I actually loved that design. But it was a plastic toy.

Imagine if Omega took that same design inspiration and upgraded it into a real Speedmaster with a SpaceX partnership. A legitimate timepiece connected to the next chapter of space exploration.

Mars.

That's a watch that holds value. That's a watch with a story. That's a watch I'd want in the vault.

Omega needs to make this call before someone else does.

What do you think? Would you buy an Omega x SpaceX collab?
